Commercial Lines Insurance Broker – Full Time

The Commercial Lines Insurance Broker works in collaboration with a Producer to provide excellent customer service by assessing client insurance needs, exposing gaps in coverage, advising on insurance matters, recommending solutions and answering client inquires in a timely, courteous and professional manner.

Duties Include:
• In collaboration with a Producer manage a designated Commercial Insurance Business portfolio.
• Review client’s current coverage and exposures, loss experience and analyze risk to determine the most appropriate product and service requirements.
• Complete a renewal review checking for accuracy, adequate coverage, limits, deductibles, premium increases, etc. Remarket as required.
• Receive all telephone calls and written correspondence relating to the clients within the assigned portfolio.
• Maintain electronic database of all communications with clients and underwriters.
• Manage account documentation (i.e. routine inquires, quotes, binders, statement of values, contracts, endorsements, cancellations, questionnaires, etc.)
• Communicate with the underwriter any policy changes and cancellations requested by the insured.
• Review all policy documentation for accuracy prior to the delivery to the client (new business, renewals and endorsements).
• Assist the Producer with new business quotes and proposals for prospective clients. Prepare submissions and forward to insurance carriers as required.
• Resolve concerns and/or complaints regarding client premiums, account reconciliation and other issues as they arise in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
• Facilitate and follow up on insurance claims acting as an advocate for the insured.
• Assist the Producer with the collection of all agency billed client accounts receivable.
• Build professional relationships with clients, underwriters and co-workers.
• Stay current on insurance products, services, underwriting rules and guidelines.

Education and Experience:
• RIBO license, active and in good standing.
• High School Diploma.
• Post Secondary Education is preferred.
• Industry designations such as CIP or CAIB would be an asset.
• 5+ years commercial lines insurance experience.
• Strong technical insurance knowledge in the placement of all classes of commercial insurance.
• Computer knowledge in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Computer knowledge in SigXP and ComXP would be an asset.
